Riots in Woolwich

On 8th August Woolwich High Street was subjected to a wave of mindless destruction and looting.

Businesses in Woolwich and Plumstead are all closing. Shutters are down, the area is like a ghost town. Some scenes are reminiscent ot the dark days of The Blitz. There is no justification for this. Whatever the reason for this violence, the only people that are being hurt are the people of the area themselves.

Their livelihoods are being destroyed and their way of life is being adversely disrupted. This violence must stop. If the large corporations are the target, don't buy their goods, that's the best way to hurt them. By destroting the local shops and businesses thee ones getting hurt are those poor souls who depend on them to earn a decent living. Leave Woolwich alone!
